Business Development Manager - Seattle


Kestrel Design Group is seeking a New Business Development manager to help grow and build our Seattle office. We are looking for an applicant who wants to get in on the ground level with a highly creative and growing design firm to build upon their career. This position will require connecting to and meeting with local real estate and project management professionals to discuss project leads, promote the benefits of working with Kestrel, attend industry events, and other typical business development tasks. The candidate will work directly with principals of the firm as well as alongside Interior Designers within the Seattle and Denver studios. Existing knowledge of and connections to the Seattle commercial real estate market is a plus and advantage for any applicant. The position will also require some initial travel and onboarding with our team in Denver, Colorado, in which all living and travel expenses will be covered by Kestrel. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, business, marketing or a related field, have strong communication skills, and be fluent in Office 365, Adobe, Bluebeam and related software.

  • Understanding and fluency of typical design project phases from programming through construction administration
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other design professionals

  • Ability to build relationships both inside the studio with fellow designers and outside of the studio with the local design community
  • Understanding and interpretation of local Seattle building codes


Experience

  • 3+ years minimum of experience in the commercial design industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture (or similar field)
  • Confident and comfortable speaking with others and presenting ideas
  • Project experience in Revit
